On June 4th, Over 300 bottles of Wellesse “Digestive 3 in 1 Health” 16 or 33 ounce bottles of health supplements were recalled because of Purimune (Galacto Oligosaccharide), an ingredient used that may have been contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is a food borne illness that can cause the infection Salmonellosis. Symptoms of the infection include diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, and joint pain. Symptoms usually appear within 12-72 hours after the ingestion of contaminated food.
Wellesse is a Botanical Labs product, which is located in Ferndale, WA and the recalled bottles were distributed nationwide after June 1st 2012.
According to the FDA 16 oz. size has "LOT 34441C (followed by a four digit time code) EXP 03/2014" jet coded on the bottom of the bottle. The 33.8 oz. size has "LOT 34552C (followed by a four digit time code) EXP 03/2014”
